Name: Elaya Norodir (Danno) Age: 15 Gender: female Family: Emlin Norodir; mother [D] Aidan Norodir; brother [D] Father - unknown Nardhion; uncle [?] Appearance: Mid-height, skinny. Short, wavy, gold hair, blue eyes. Dresses as a boy. Character: Elaya is young and somewhat sheltered, but not naïve- she knows how to look after herself. Elaya is quite guarded, and generally does not open up to strangers until she had gotten to know them well. Her personality was more open, carefree, and positive before the fire, thought she was not wholly innocent. However, since the fire and the death of her mother and brother, her character has become darker, less trusting, and far more pessimistic. In the weeks on the road since she left her village she has recovered somewhat, however, she is still deeply troubled by the event, and it has left a lasting mark on her personality. Background: Elaya was born in a small village and raised by her mother alone. Their family was lower class, not dirt poor, but money was scarce and they had to work hard. Elaya never knew her father, it was the one subject her mother refused to ever discuss. All she knows is that his brother supposedly lives in Taradell. About three weeks ago, Elaya was running an errand to a neighboring village, and was away from home for an entire day. When she returned home that evening, she was met by disaster: her family's simple house was completely destroyed, reduced to ashes by a devastating fire. All she could gather from the other villagers was that the fire had started at around noon, her mother and brother had been inside, and no one had been able to put it out. It wasn't long after that that the landlord arrived. Instead of offering sympathy, he demanded compensation for the destruction of his propery. Elaya was dumbfounded, she'd just lost all her family and the only home she knew, she had nothing. With nothing but trouble left for her in that village, she disguised herself as a boy, stole a horse from the landlord, and set out toward Taradell in hope of finding the only living family member she knew of. Since then, she'd been on the road, working for farmers doing chores and odd jobs for a few days at a time in each village she passed through. Possesions: • Clothing: - overtunic, long sleeved, knee length, dark brown - pants, drawstring waist, loose legs, off-white/tan - belt, leather - leg wraps, wool - shoes, ankle high, soft leather • Pony (Tuon), dun, shaggy - stolen • Saddle & saddlebag, simple leather - stolen • Belt knife/dagger, well made, thistle shaped hilt • Cloak/blanket, dark green, wool - stolen

Only about 4 months after her brother was taken from this world, by the plague, Codie set out to complete what he had set out to do. She thought as she walked though another village, and another forest and more flat land. No matter where she looked it was impossible to find what he had looked for. "What should we do, mm? I'm completely out of ideas Will." She said as she pet his nose, Will, her horse, a very loyal friend of hers. (and my rping skills went down the toilet so i'll end here...)

The air was warm, the sun was bright, and Elaya was feeling better than she had in days. The farmer she'd worked for in the last village had been generous, and she now traveled with a full belly, and better, a full saddlebag of food. In the past week or so, she'd grown accustomed to life on the road. It had its own peaceful rhythm to it; move, sleep, work, move on again, another day, another village. Being alone wasn't so bad either. Elaya had spent her whole life living with her mother and little brother, when she wasn't with them there was always someone from the village around. Now at last she was truly alone, and it made her feel a little freer. Out here on the road she had time to think about things she'd never thought about before, time to notice trees and flowers and the stars in the night sky. Elaya was snapped out of her reverie by the sound of footsteps on the path ahead. Of course, there was no reason not to expect to meet another harmless traveler, but the road was not a heavily used one, and Elaya wasn't willing to take the risk of complacency.

"Whoah, whoah, whoah. William are you gonna start this now. really? Okay." She said as she fed her horse an apple she was saving for herself. She cut it in half behind her back and gave Will one of the halves; catching her off guard he sniffed around her for the other missing half. "Hey, hey." she said waving it around infront of him. "Half for me. Remember? Deals." Codie said as she swiftly ate her share of an apple. It was midday by now, and the sun was about to set, not wanting to stop Codie started getting ready to ride off, but footsteps. Quiet, steady footsteps approaching her. Scrambling around, rubbing away footprints and urging Will to get going deeper into the forest; when there was no trace that anyone had been there, Codie stood behind a tree near by, figuring it was big enough to hide her completely, she stood waiting. Hand on sword just as her brother had taught her; relaxing with each echoing footstep.. ;D

Elaya continued riding forward slowly, alert to anything that might signal danger. Her hand was firm on the hilt of her belt knife-come-dagger. It wasn't much of a weapon, but it was what she had and damned if she didn't know how to use it. As Tuon moved forward, no one appeared, but Elaya was certain she'd heard the sound of hooves, so she remained wary.

Peering through leaves, she watched as a young boy who looked to be about 13, passed by. Sighing loudly, forgetting that a stranger was passing by. Codie started to run, making loud cracking sounds, as she stepped on dead branches.

Elaya's head snapped around abruptly as a sudden rustling and crackling came from the forest to her left. Peering into the shadows the trees cast, she caught a glimpse of dark hair, and the form of a girl about her age darting through the trees. Probably not a threat, but one couldn't be too careful. Dismounting smoothly, Elaya kept a firm grip on both her reins and her knife as she faced the forest. "Who's there?" she called out firmly.

Taking deep breaths to calm down from the sudden adrenaline rush, she stepped out from the forest hand on sword, waiting for him to take a blow at her. "No one who's gonna attack you. Thats for sure. You can calm down." She said on edge. Codie, willing to take a risk, held her hand out. "Im Codie."

Elaya grasped the proffered hand with a grin. "I'm not the one running about with a bloody great sword." She replied, feeling at ease with the other girl. "I'm Danno, heading for Taradell. You?" Despite her general wariness of strangers, Elaya had a feeling this girl was friendly, or at the least, not an enemy. Besides, it would be nice to have company on the road. She chatted to the occasional farmer in the villages she'd passed through, but it had been ages since she'd had any real companion. Besides, there was safety in numbers, was there not?
